01

Why Cybercrime Awareness

With the rapid growth of online payments, social media platforms, and digital services, cybercrime has become a serious threat to individuals and organizations. Cybercrime awareness helps citizens recognize online fraud, phishing scams, identity theft, and data breaches at an early stage. By educating people about safe online behavior and digital security practices, awareness programs reduce financial loss, protect personal and sensitive information, and encourage responsible use of technology.

Success Stories

“I received a call claiming to be from a government agency, threatening legal action. I was scared and almost transferred money. After attending a CAP awareness session earlier, I recognized the warning signs and contacted their helpline. They confirmed it was a scam and advised me on how to block the number and report it. Their awareness session saved me from losing my life savings.”

“My business Instagram account was hacked and used to message customers for money. CAP guided me on securing my email, filing a proper cybercrime report, and submitting recovery requests to Meta. Within days, my account was restored. More importantly, they educated me on two-factor authentication and digital hygiene so this never happens again. “I was offered a part-time online job and asked to pay a registration fee. Before making the payment, I attended a CAP webinar conducted in my college. The examples matched exactly with my situation. I stopped immediately and reported the recruiter. CAP helped me submit the complaint and educated our entire class on job scams. Many students were saved.”
